‘Women to Women’ is a committee of Baptist women drawn from across NSW and ACT, to network various Baptist women’s ministries. In every Baptist church, there are always women serving and relating to other women with the spiritual interest of those women at heart. They may serve in Bible Study groups, Playtime groups, Craft groups or Seniors’ groups. Whatever women are interested in doing, there you will see women meeting with women. ‘Women to Women’ seeks to network these groups so we can all benefit from the experiences of each other as we seek to win women for Christ. The women’s branch of Global Interaction is still called Baptist Women’s Missionary Union but four of the regional meetings are using the front name “Friends of Global Interaction” to encourage men to attend. Read the rest of this entry »

There is a larger body of Baptist Women called the Women’s Department of Baptist World Alliance. The President is Dorothy Selebano of Africa. Her theme is: “Stand up, God can use you!”

There are several continental regions in the Women’s Department and Australia is in the South West Pacific region. The President of the South West Pacific Region is currently an Australian. Lorraine Walker from Queensland represents our region as President and is also currently the President of the Queensland Baptist Union of churches.

Each year a luncheon is organised for the Baptist Women of NSW & ACT.
The last one was held at the Sports Centre at Homebush.
The speaker was Joyce Harmer, Prison Chaplain for the Salvation Army.
Make sure you get in early for the next luncheon as the last one was booked out and many were disappointed.
It will be held on Thursday 18th September 2008.
